Obscene, Indecent, Immoral and Offensive: 100+ Years of Censored, Banned, and Controversial Films
An extensive, useful history of "offensive" films with a distinct author voice. Personally, I would've preferred the book to focus only on banned or censored films (including "controversial" films muddies the waters for me), but YMMV. I also found the afterword abrupt and would've preferred a more-speculative angle: these are the upcoming issues in film censorship and how societies and the industry are likely to respond.
