According to Paul: Studies in the Theology of the Apostle
Like other books in this series, the author uses the lens of "fictive kinship" and other sociological models to open up to the reader the world of Paul and Titus. In addition, the relationship of Paul and Titus receives some speculation based on what is read in Paul's texts as well as those of the subsequent generations (particularly the Letter to Titus). By opening up the world of Paul in the 1st cent., the reader is better able to understand Paul's writings, priorities, and ways of thinking about God, Jesus, and Church.
