These stories were not what I expected. The end of the synopsis says they are funny, touching, intimate, etc. and I heartily disagree. They were not funny or touching or intimate, which were the main reasons I did not like these stories. They were dark, gritty, and often seedy and/or dirty, which just made the sex scenes seem so less than sexy. There was only one or two stories where the characters actually seemed to share an emotional connection that made the sex scenes hot.
I love erotica and I love gay erotica, but these stories were more like pornographic, giving the 'cum shot' at the end and little emotional connection. They do have some plots in there, but it didn't help create intimacy in any way. I would have given it one star except for one or two stories that were good. I even skimmed some without reading because I wasn't into the prostitution, drugs, etc. Just did nothing for me!
