(Full disclosure - I am friends with the author) Written for an elementary school audience, this book provides a general overview of Islam, its beliefs, practices, and traditions. It provides a gentle counterpoint to the all too widely held views of Islam as a violent religion waging a war against the rest of the world. It helps show that Muslims are a large and diverse group, and that the fundamental tenants of their faith are not radically different from those purported to be believed by the majority of those in our larger society. Hopefully, this little book can help youngsters understand and respect their Muslim peers, allowing them to grow into more compassionate adults.
