Conservation and Restoration of Glass Book

I've always had a fascination for renaissance paintings, architecture and the Medici and treked all over Europe to see as much as I could. Thanks to my ma seeing a small article in the NYTimes, I caught this show while out on the east coast. Pontormo and Bronzino are two of my favorite painters and this show was a gem- though there was a plumbing problem near the galleries -- the smell hardly diminished my thrill of seeing so much sixteenth century artwork in one place on American soil. There are several essays about the restoration of a portrait and insights into the tumultuous times in which the works were created. A tour driver for Mike Heron lived in Philadelphia and in the middle of moving picked me up at rush hour at the the round about below the museum with his friend in a big Uhaul and we drove all over the city - a tour only a local could give. Fond times.
