I was a little disappointed that the book only contained photos and captions. There were a lot of pictures of people I didn't know, but maybe that's because I'm not knowledgeable enough about African American history in Kansas City. The coolest parts for me, was seeing photos of places that still exist in KC and also things that don't, and knowing the location they were. As a Kansas City native, I love learning about the history of my city. I learned some things, so I think this book was decent.
