Augusta, Georgia (Black America Series)
I first picked this book up back in 2013, but I never read it to the last chapter. It wouldn't be until November of 2020 where I would order the book and read the memoir in it's entirety. From the introduction to the closing words this book will make you think different about young men coming up in the inner-cities of the United States. Shawn Taylor does a wonderful job twisting torment, trauma, and humor in every chapter. Although this book is fifteen years-old any person in almost any age frame can relate to it. My advice to anyone who wants to read this book would be to give it a chance.
