[LeÃdo y reseñado en 2019]
Esta es la segunda novela que leo de Dorothy Garlock. La primera que cayó en mis manos es "Ternura" de la misma autora. Tanto en esta novela como en la otra he de decir que hay algo que me llama la atención y me hace mucha gracias y es el hecho de que al principio ellos, no suelen ver bonitas a las protagonistas pero conforme pasa el tiempo y se van enamorando las ven preciosas. Para mi, es un recurso que utiliza la autora para hacernos ver que se han/están enamorando.
Esta historia me ha gustado pero como la anterior, no me ha apasionado. Es una historia muy bonita de amor. La pareja principal formada por Dory y Ben me gusta... pero... la que más me ha encantado es la segunda pareja formada por Odette y James... ¡qué preciosa pareja y qué hombre...dios, qué hombre James!
La historia cuenta la vida de los leñadores de aquella época y como era de dura la vida en esos tiempos. La verdad es que he sufrido en muchos momentos con la pobre Dory...la pobre mujer lo pasa tan mal en todos los aspectos!!! Y tiene un corazón que no le cabe en el pecho!!
La hija de Dory, Jeanmarie es un personaje que me ha enamorado!! Es una niña adorable...he sentido mucha ternurita con esta pequeña!! Y en general, los personajes están bien perfilados...los buenos son admirables, los malos detestables.
La relación de la pareja protagonista me ha gustado pero a él le cuesta mucho dejarse llevar... en muchas ocasiones me ha molestado sobre todo porque ella le dice lo que siente y a él hay que sacárselo con embudo... sin embargo James... es un hombre de los pies a la cabeza y ama a Odette con todo el corazón (Ben ama a Dory del mismo modo pero le cuesta expresar sus sentimientos y para mi ha sido un poco frustrante en algunos momentos)
Y como escribà en la anterior reseña que ya realicé del libro de "Ternura" esta historia es una bonita historia para leer algo sencillo en algún momento que no se busquen grandes pretensiones, solo una bonita historia de amor (aunque un poco dura). No es una historia memorable que se vaya a recordar como la mejor historia de amor de todos los tiempos. Es una historia de amor cotidiana.
Lo único que no me ha gustado es que la relación de amor tarda bastante en verse consolidada y eso en ocasiones me ponÃa un poco nerviosa...y la tala indiscriminada de bosques me dejó mal cuerpo teniendo en cuenta como tenemos el mundo hoy en dÃa y los bosques tan bonitos que tendrÃan en aquellas épocas antes de las explotaciones madereras.
Una novela que os recomiendo si os apetece leer algo sencillo!!
