You're Under Arrest!: The Wild Ones Book

In defiance of expectations, Cafe Kichijoji is incredible funny. The humor is reminiscent of slice of life (ala Poor Poor Lip) stories with Hayashiya Shizuru-type puns and bad cultural references. Since I don't have access to v.1 I didn't get the best introduction to the characters, but for the most part they're prototypical: one is a bijin with mystical powers, another is pathetically poor (easiest for me to relate to), the shachou is older and constant stress is causing him to grey before his time. There's an adorable preschooler who enjoys destroy the restaurant 0.6 seconds at every opportunity and some neighbor junior kids up to no good with their bey blades. ^^;; The art is good with many colored pages, but i get the sense the author isn't great with backgrounds. All said, it's a beautifully crafted story.
