Rev. Dr. Ed Nettleton has written a wonderful book that can be used for daily meditation, theological study, or just a thought provoking read. In the four Christian Gospels, Jesus is recorded as having asked 134 questions to various individuals and groups.
Actually it took Rev. Nettleton quite some time to decide just how many questions Jesus asks in the New Testament, as many very similar questions appear in the four gospels. Some of the questions may seem to be the same, but in context they are not. Sometimes the same question is asked in different ways. Some questions are not even phrased as a question, but are obviously meant as such. Rev. Nettleton has included extensive cross-referencing to assist the reader in making his or her own decision. Nettleton has also presented the questions in the order they appear in the Bible, so as to allow the same "flow" as Jesus used.
Although it is tempting to consider Jesus' questions as being only of historical interest, it is the thesis of this book that Jesus still lives and is asking each of these questions to every one of us today. The answers that we now give Jesus are as important as the answers that He received during His time on earth.
