What is Mother's Day? Book

This is an exceptionally fine book about Passover. It is a book geared to school aged children, I'd say 5 through 10, but those younger and older, especially as part of a family read aloud, can also enjoy it.

It's a wonderful, creative, and effective way to tell the story of Passover. The book starts with some information about Passover. Then, each page shows a modern Jewish family getting ready for and celebrating Passover, doing specific things, and each of those pages has a fold out page with the history of then and why what's done now is done. History really comes to life this way, and the reason for the various traditions is clearly told and shown.

The illustrations are splendid and, on the now pages, they're sometimes wonderfully playful. They're really special and will hold the attention of even children to young to fully understand the narrative.

This is a fine book to read at Passover time, to learn about Passover, and also would be a good choice to read as part of any lesson about slavery.
