Using and Understanding Java Data Objects
While not quite as funny as the ActiveX one, this is a good follow-up. Fortunately Mr. Egremont fixes some of his errors from the ActiveX book, and instead of all the confusing diagram and visual numbering, he keeps this one much simpler, image 1, diagram 1, picture 1, and so forth.
Since I know more about Java than ActiveX, I'm more confident of the technical quality of this particular book.
