Thousand Cousins: Poems of Family Life Book

David Harrison and illustrator Betsy Lewin are just a fantastic team. They also wrote the book, "Someone Catch my Homework" which I also put on my must have shelf. This book was so funny, again I laughed out-loud, read the poems to my husband, and thought back to when I was a kid and had similar thoughts about family. I think you would agree that the following subjects are very near and dear to your childhood memories; holiday dinners, big brothers/sisters, little brothers/sisters, mom/dad, grandpops/grandmoms, chores, homework, sharing, practicing instruments, hand me downs, and vegetables. Each poem has a picture that reflects the meanings of the poems wonderfully. The cantor makes for fun easy reading and would be great in a classroom library. Just like their other book students would wear out the binding on this book to.
This book would actually be fun to share at family gatherings. It sure would be a conversation starter and great for story time around the holiday table.
