The Winterthur Library Revealed: Five Centuries of Design and Inspiration Book

It began with Henry Francis du Pont's private library and now holds more than 87,000 volumes and 500,000 manuscripts and images. Delaware's Winterthur Library is an incomparable source of information on American decorative arts and British and European design sources; its holdings—books, manuscripts, drawings, and ephemera—represent the work of artisans, manufacturers, advertisers, and many others. Essays and brief entries describe the library's founding and its current collections, from printed patterns of the 16th century to colonial-revival drawings of the 20th.
