This is Butler's account of his second expedition, in 1872, across the Candian west. On this journey he departed from the Red River of the North to Lake Athabasca, then followed the Peace River to the Rocky Mountains, reaching the frontier station of Quesnelle on the Frazer River in June of the following year. It is an exciting tale of adventure and an important piece of Canadian history.
