منبعا الاخلاق والدين هو آخر الأعمال للÙيلسو٠الÙرنسي هنري برجسون, الØاصل جائزة نوبل للأدب وهو ÙŠÙعد من أشهر الÙلاسÙØ© الÙرنسيين وأكثرهم تأثيرا ÙÙŠ النص٠الأول من القرن العشرين.
يقسÙّم برجسون الأخلاق لنوعين, أخلاق مغلقة ومÙتوØØ©, الأولى مرتبطه بالدين السكوني والثانية بالدين الØركي.
سمى النوع الأول أخلاق مغلقة لأنها منغلقة على جماعة من البشر, Ùيها يكون الإلتزام الأخلاقي تجاه جماعة معينة, وسماها أيضا أخلاق تØت-عقلية, لأنها من نتاج الغريزة. أما النوع الثاني (الاخلاق المÙتوØØ©) Ùهي تشمل كل إنسان, وهي Ùوق-عقلية لأنها ناتجة عن إبداع عقلي.
الدين السكوني, Øسب برجسون, غريزي, وجÙدَ كرد Ùعل آلي تجاه الطبيعة, هدÙاه الأساسيان هما بقاء المجتمع متماسكا والتغلب على Ùكرة الموت.
على خلاÙÙ‡ الدين الØركي, الذي هو نتاج إبداع متطور, يهد٠إلى السمو بالنÙس والارتÙاع بها Øتى يبلغ ذروته ÙÙŠ الاتØاد بالله. ويرى برجسون أن الصوÙية هي القلب النابض للدين الØركي إن لم تكن هي الدين الØركي ذاته.
