The Spec Manual Book

The Spec Manual provides fashion professionals and students with an affordable, up-to-date guide for measuring a variety of garments reflecting standard garment-industry practice. This textbook/workbook contains front and back view croquis figures for men, women, and children, spec sheet templates, illustrated measurement points, tables with measurement points and a CD-ROM. This cross-platform CD-ROM contains digitized croquis figures and spec sheet templates.

The user will learn how to create computer-generated spec sheets and be able to manipulate the templates on disk, as well as print them out to modify manually. This text serves as a how-to-measure manual for advanced fashion students and industry professionals operating without a corporate spec manual. The Spec Manual CD-ROM contains files in Portable Document Format (PDF), Excel, and TIFF. Acrobat Reader 4.0 is provided to view and print the figures and spec sheets in the PDF files. The minimum system requirements for Acrobat Reader 4.0, for Windows and Macintosh are 32 MB of RAM (64 MB recommended), 10 MB of available hard-disk space, a CD-ROM drive, a color monitor with 256-color (8 bit) or greater video card, and monitor resolution of 800x600 or greater. Windows users should have a Pentium®-class processor and Microsoft® Windows® 95/98, or Windows® NT 4.0 with Service Pack3. Macintosh users need a PowerPC®-based Macintosh® computer processor and Mac® OS Software versions 7.1.2 or later.
