The Islands of the Argosaronic Gulf Book

Just a few miles from Athens lie the small but beautiful islands of the Argosaronic Gulf: closest are the historic island of Salamis, Aegina, famous for its ancient temples and medieval town, and Angistri, a miniature paradise; further down, in the Pelopponese, the Methana peninsula, famous for its healing springs, and Trizina, the mighty city of Troezen in ancient times; hugging the coast of the peninsula of Argolis and Poros, renowned for the Amphictyony which met in its temple of Poseidon, and to the west and south, Hydra and Spetses, islands with powerful fleets and a rich historical architecture.
