The glory of the Lord
This was a very challenging book, both academically and systematically. Balthasar reminds me a lot of Karl Barth in the way he writes. He takes forever to make a point, and just like any detailed work of art, it takes ten thousand points to draw the picture he has in mind. In the end, the picture Balthasar paints is beautiful, but I've seen prettier works of art with greater clarity in the details. Even the process of following his logic is exhausting. As a work of theological art (connected by all his dots) it is great, but it's difficult to decipher much beyond the surface of things without help
