The confident writer Book

The Confident Writer functions simultaneously as a rhetoric with readings, a research guide, and a handbook. Students receive extensive writing practice throughout the text in order to become confident writers capable of making effective choices during the writing process.

Unit I, The Writing Process, covers the essay, audience and purpose, the thesis statement, supporting details, the research paper, and strategies for every writing stage. In Unit II, Patterns as Options, Kanar introduces rhetorical patterns as organizational choices made to suit the intended purpose, audience, and thesis of a writing selection. Unit III, More Choices: A Collection of Readings, offers timely and culturally diverse essays. Unit IV, The Selective Writer, comprises a grammar handbook.
