The book of Kells
A fantasy time traveling story in which a modern, mismatched pair get thrown back into medieval Ireland via an unearthed ancient artifact with magical time-portal powers. That drops them into the middle of a Norse raid and all sorts of related complications. The protagonists seem less put out by the loss of modern conveniences than I would, but somehow everyone will find True Love. The omniscient narration had some disorienting changes in PoV. Mostly I was disappointed the titular Book of Kells didn't really play much of a part in the story, since that was my primary motivation for picking up this novel.
