The archaeology of drylands Book

In Age of Environmentalism, de Steiguer provides a kind of historiographic approach to environmentalism. Each chapter focuses on a person/or team of people and a major environmental work, describing the findings of the work and the effect it had on society and environmentalism. The downside of this approach is that the people on the ground remain in the background if they are mentioned at all. Would likely serve well as a companion text in an undergraduate environmental studies/history course.
