This is the unauthorised autobiography of Robbie Williams.

That should have been enough of a clue in itself.

Its little more than a fanzine article - written poorly and far too often cringingly by an author who really wants to be Robbie's mate - or "Rob", as his mates call him, apparently...

The author doesn't seem to have got within ten thousand miles of his subject - he doesn't even fess up to seeing his hero in concert.

He speaks to the younger sister of someone who was probably in the same school as "Rob" - and someone who lived two doors down from "Rob's" auntie. And so on - people in the main who are very far removed from the subject, and are usually passing on second and even third hand tales of him.

He seems to have got a lot of his material from the press - he will relate that "Rob" once sang with "Kylie" - and for the rest of the book makes little asides about how "Kylie" (or "Geri", or "Nic" or anyone else who may or may not have come into contact with "Rob" at one point) might have reacted in such and such a situation had she been there - or what she might have given Rob as advice if she'd still been even talking to him....

It gets beyond tabloid gossip far too often, a sort of never never land of what might or might not have gone on in Robbie Williams' head at certain times.

A recurring theme is how "Rob" doesn't forgive or forget - he likes people to be nice to him. Which is all this author tries to do throughout the book - you get half the sense he's actually written it in the vague hope that his hero will "like" him....

One of the worst and most cringe inducing and ultimately pointless books I've ever read.

And I really like Robbie Williams. Or "Rob" as I like to call him......
