The Ice Cave: A Woman's Adventures from the Mojave to the Antarctic Book

I've got a strong feeling that Bledsoe has taken more than a few cues from 'Pilgrim at Tinker Creek'. The writing style is a dead-ringer for that of Pilgrim, and the desperate attempts to reach a 'universal truth' reek of Annie Dillard. Sadly, Bledsoe's prose lacks Dillard's sophisticated style and impressive descriptive skills, but fortunately, she also lacks Dillard's holier than thou attitude, and her claims of having reached an understanding of the universe beyond us, pitiful mortals.
Although from a textual point of view, Pilgrim is a masterpiece that Cave cannot even get close to, Bledsoe's humility makes her book a more recommendable read.

As for the content, I did enjoy it. Some parts were more to my liking than others (the part about trekking in the snow that almost led to the author's death, for instance) and my overall experience was a positive one, albeit I am hesitant to recommend it as there are many good books about the wilderness that I would recommend prior to this one.
