The Feathered Cloak
This falls into the "meh" category: while the initial premise is good (always nice to see people harking back to Norse mythology, which is highly underrated in most schools (they prefer Greek/Roman)), the Intrusive Voice of the Narrator is a problem.
The length of this book was also a problem. It's clearly a trilogy (even says so on the subtitle/series name) but I get the feeling that someone - an editor? - took a single book, got the author to pad in a few places, and chopped it into thirds. The result was poor (given the Intrusive Voice) and I'm not interested in the rest of the trilogy.
