The Emergence of Sexuality
How many books must academics write about Foucault? He's a cottage industry these days. Hundreds of books... Foucault and masturbation, Foucault and your grandma. Honestly, just read History of Sexuality and save yourself a butt-load of time. Davidson is much easier to read, but that makes him less interesting to spend time with. I lost interest after about twenty pages. Basic argument in this book.... Christianity codifies all "Deviant" sexual behavior as "Beastly"... Christianity traditionally looks at homosexuals as "Beasts"... Didn't really need to read this to know that, but thanks for showing the historical origins of homo-phobia.
