Taste of Pennsylvania History: A Guide to Historic Eateries and Their Recipes Book

In this combination cookbook/travel guide, the authors spotlight over a hundred historic restaurants throughout Pennsylvania. At some of the restaurants, the buildings' original use is an integral part of the ambiance today. At others, historic memorabilia is part of the internal or external decor.

Each entry includes a description of the restaurant and its cuisine; address and phone number; and two to three recipes from the restaurant's menu. The entries are grouped into categories that include restaurants with a romantic history; those housed in former wayside inns and taverns; those whose history is connected to a lake or river; those formerly used as train stations or dining cars; those now housing brewpubs; those now in converted barns; and those in former homes of wealthy local families.
