Julian of Norwich's Showing of Love translates the extant manuscripts of her text, giving her spelling and syntax in recognizable forms. It is intended for students and the general public. Julian dedicated years of her life to shaping this book, at the end rewriting it to preserve it from censorship by Arundel in 1413. Documents note that she was an anchoress living in St. Julian's Churchyard, in Norwich. Her text was preserved from destruction by nuns in Brigittine and Benedictine convents, first in England, then in exile following the Reformation. It was first published by Benedictines in 1670.
