Science Fiction & Fantasy/Frankenstein/The War of the Worlds/20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Book

I recently read the novel The War of the Worlds for the first time, and that sparked my interest in all things Wells and/or The War of the Worlds; I only read that part of this short graphic novel. First published in Boys Life, this very short graphic version does a great job of capturing the tone of the novel, and may even prompt the reader to go ahead and just read the novel. I have some minor quibble with the illustrations (the Martians look more like Spider-man villains than Martians), but the Martian armed vehicles have the steam punk quality that makes The War of the Worlds such a cool "now" type of book. The narrator uses the term "rocket-ship" at one point - sorry guys, that word wasn't used until 1927, way post-Victorian. The book used "cylinder" and in my mind they should have stuck to that. Those are really minor though - overall a fun, very quick comic.
