*clucks her tongue a couple of times* I'm vaguely remembering this. I remember the first half of the book... OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, RIGHT!!! The one with the mysterious Italian guy named Dante! Of course! Oh, yes!! Okay, this book was Victorian and Andrew was a spy and now he feels like he's obliged to protect Miranda, so he applies to be her secretary/traveling companion.
This was one of those books where you're reading and you're like, "Wait a second.... WHAT??? What's he TALKING about??? Am I EVER going to understand what happened???" Where the back story of the characters is kinda mysterious, and you find out SLOWLY what's ACTUALLY going on. It was very very intriguing. The whole Dante thing.... I was like, "WHO THE HELL IS THIS DANTE GUY??? AND WHY DO BOTH ANDREW AND MIRANDA KEEP THINKING ABOUT THEM????"
Very good. Very suspenseful... :) 4 stars, for sure.
