Steve Squyres is the face and voice of NASA's Mars Exploration Rover mission. Phenomenal book about the epic (and still ongoing!) Mars rover missions. The book is essentially three parts, the first being the proposal writing/planning, the second being constructing and launching the rovers and the third listing what has been learned. It is hard to believe that this book was written in 2005 and I read it in 2009, and the rovers are still hard at work. It makes me smile. I think the author is just as surprised, as he listed some of the ways the rovers might perish. Highly recommended!
