Helen Walter believes that the true quiller's aim should be to create designs directly linked to the shape of the quilling paper, achieving their unique effects through simplicity.
Using only the basic quilling shapes with a few variations, Helen Walter has created 24 fresh new wildflower designs based on the vibrant flower of her home state of Western Australia—kangaroo paw, winged wattle, quandong, leschenaultia, everlastings, donkey orchids, pygmy sundew and Sturt's desert pea, all feature, along with black kennedia and golden grevillea.
All the designs are photographed in full colour and feature as finished designs on cards, but they are easily adapted for other decorative ideas.
