Old Crumlin to Pontymister in photographs Book

The area covered by this book spans some seven miles of the Western Valley of Gwent, incorporating the nine townships of Crumlin, Newbridge, Pentwynmawr, Abercarn, Cwmcarn, Pontywain, Cross-keys, Risca and Pontymister. Although to the unsuspecting visitor they merge one into the other, to those who live there each has its own character, and woebetide the person who call Pontywain 'Cwmcarn', or Pontymister 'Risca'. The 210 photographs, drawn from many sources, give us a delightful glimpse of the townships as they were years ago, they portray the people at work and play, in good times and bad.
