You know if it weren't for the anime stereotypes, underage lewd content, and comical background occurrences; this would be a pretty bad ass magical book series.
Let's not forget the villain of this arc, Chao, is actually a descendent of Negi from the future, one with such a good point to fix the problems with the past using the academy's powerful tree, that he himself almost sides with her plan.
