National Geographic: Behind America's Lens on the World is the first ever book-length account of one of Americas most powerful and mysterious institutions: The National Geographic Society, which for nearly a century has been America's lens on the world.

Author Bio: Howard S. Abramson is vice president and editorial director of Transportation Topics Publishing Group in Alexandria, VA. He spent four years as editor and national transportation correspondent for Bloomberg News and three years as managing editor of The Journal of Commerce. Abramson was also the editor of Traffic World. He is the author of Hero in Disgrace: The True Discoverer of the North Pole, Frederick A. Cook. Abramson lives in Bethesda, Maryland.
