This wonderful little book tells about two little girls who have a distinct and individual way they like to do things. The book follows Margaret and Margarita throughout the day and explains their individual styles. Although they each have unique cultures and styles, they like to share with each other and trade occasionally. The zany ending shows how they can switch styles with each other, as well as combine the two. Young kids will love Margaret's and Margarita's crazy styles and cheerful friendship, and they will enjoy comparing the two throughout the book. This book would work very well as a model for "same" and "different," as the two girls can be compared side by side on opposing pages. It would also be a great book to use when teaching young children about self-appreciation and individuality, as well as respecting cultures and differences in others. This is an interesting book because it is completely bilingual, but instead of repeating exactly the same lines in both languages, it tells information from Margaret in English and Margarita in Spanish.
