Military Rules of Evidence Manual, Fifth Edition is the only publication of its kind available to both military and civilian attorneys and to those studying the system. The Manual serves as an authoritative case finder as it includes virtually every military court decision (since 1981) applying a military rule of evidence. Since 1980 the Manual has been cited hundreds of times by military, federal, and state courts. The book is arranged in such a way that it includes the official text of each rule of evidence, insightful Editorial Comments on the rule, the Drafters' Analysis, and annotations of cases that have interpreted and applied the rule.

The Fifth Edition has been reformatted and converted to a two-volume work due to the sheer volume of the caselaw, additional commentary, the lengthy index, and indispensable Table of Cases. It is now it more user friendly, with additional section headings and numbering as well as reorganized annotated cases to help counsel and the courts to locate pertinent cases more quickly.
