I thought this book was a really nice combination of talking about what she wears and how it has had an effect on the American fashion industry, as well as a mini style manual. I've been helping my mom pick out some new outfits, and it's hard for people who aren't young or people who aren't elderly to know how to dress/find clothes. It's nice to see a woman having a positive influence on the fashion industry, and be praised for looking classy but strong instead of being labeled stuffy or scary. It's good to emphasize that life isn't over at 30, and you can still look nice even if you've had a kid or are busy. (Full disclosure: I'm nowhere near 30, but when I get there, I don't want people to think my life is over)
The book does fawn a little bit, but Michelle Obama is a cool lady, and the book is specifically about her and what she wears, so it was completely understandable and expected.
