Planning to be a lawyer? Eighty-two percent of Miami students who apply to law school are accepted. The national average is only 67 percent.
Miami has a tradition of brawn to match the brains.
Former Miami quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was signed to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2004 as the 11th pick in the NFL draft. And for those of you who've just arrived here from a different galaxy, he went on to win the Rookie of the Year award and Super Bowl XL!
And if you are afraid of heights, don't worry. No Miami residence hall is built more than three stories above ground. Tall buildings would stand out like a sore thumb in quaint, historic Oxford.
What's Oxford like, you ask?
"The atmosphere is a typical college town, something you might see in the movies. The University makes Oxford what it is. The people who live in the town tend to differ greatly from those who attend the University, but we are able to coexist without major difficulties. However, I would recommend sticking to the places meant for college students, as opposed to those frequented by the 'townies.' Go to the bars uptown and definitely Bagel & Deli between midnight and 3 a.m. That's the true Miamiexperience."
