Love Comes First
Many times I
cringed at Jong's
apparent total lack
of editorial review--
it's all so
damned earnest and
often insipid. But
there are some
lovely poems inside,
"Continental Divide" and
"Collecting Venetian Glass"
being my favorites.
Overall, though, I
am so, so
tired of poems
that feel more
like sentences broken
into lines that
are always only
three words long.
