Kearsley's Traveller's Entertaining Guide through Great Britain, 1801 Book

Densely informative, and kind of laid out like a textbook. (A good textbook. One which has an easy-to-follow key and organizing system and breaks up big blocks of text by bolding key terms and putting asides in cute little boxes. And the awareness of how quickly it will be outdated and encouragement to check the associated website.) But the tone is more accessible than a textbook, and there are citations of random internet people using their user names which is kind of not professional like a textbook would be.

Like a textbook, I took notes on this book. (I'm a giant nerd.) I think it's kind of a helpful way to approach all the information (and to not feel overwhelmed by all the pound-signs which indicate that most of the suggestions cost mucho dinero).

Overall, it's a nice guide. I skimmed the whole thing, but it would be useful to have while on a trip, I think, to refer to parts. Really, guide books like this should be for quick reference to parts anyway because of how much information there is (not to mention how unreasonable it is to try to internalize all that information without some sort of experience to ground it).
