Jews, Slaves, and the Slave Trade: Setting the Record Straight
This, to me, is another example of "throwing a rock and hiding your hand". No one wants to take responsibility for their part in this horrid place in american history. This is the only event in which everyone seems to want to forget. If it were the holocaust or the interment camps or the reservations, everyone would be up in arms. The author seems to be saying "it's just the slave trade, get over it, we poor jews had nothing or rather very little to do with the situation. You can find statistics to support any and everything, that doesn't negate the fact that what transpired was horrible. I don't say use it as a crutch, on either side. Let these experiences be the fuel that promotes "better" for us all.
