The Consolation of Philosophy is a philosophical work by the Roman statesman Boethius, written around the year 524.
It has been described as the single most important and influential work in the West on Medieval and early Renaissance Christianity, as well as the last great Western work of the Classical Period.
Boethius writes the book as a conversation between himself and a female personification of philosophy.

تسلّای ÙلسÙÙ‡ کتابی است Ú©Ù‡ «انیکیوس مانلیوس بوئیتیوس» Ùیلسو٠مسیØÛŒ سده ششم میلادی در زندان نوشته‌ است؛ او به یکی از مهم‌ترین پست‌های آن زمان Ú©Ù‡ ریاست دÙتر «تئودوریک» بود ارتقا یاÙت، اما از آنجایی Ú©Ù‡ با Ùساد اجرایی ناسازگاری داشت به‌ زودی با بسیاری از بخش‌های اجرایی امپراتوری مناقشه پیدا کرد، در نهایت «بوئتیوس» را به اتهام خیانت Ùˆ جادوگری به زندان انداختند، Ùˆ در Øدود سال 526میلادی اعدام کردند؛ «بوئتیوس» پیش از اعدام این Ùرصت را پیدا کرد تا شاهکار خود «تسلای ÙلسÙه» را بنویسد
این مجموعه در پنج دÙتر، تدوین گردیده است؛
دÙتر اول درباره ÛŒ یک زندانی است Ú©Ù‡ از سقوط Ùˆ مرگ قریب الوقوع خود اندوهگین است Ùˆ در همینØال، بانوی ÙلسÙÙ‡ در برابر او ظاهر شده Ùˆ از ظلم تقدیر، با او سخن میگوید؛
در دÙتر دوم، بانوی ÙلسÙÙ‡ خاطر نشان میسازد Ú©Ù‡ ثروت Ùˆ شهرت، تنها راههای کسب خوشبختی نیستند
در دÙتر سوم، بانوی ÙلسÙÙ‡ از نکوهش خیرهای کاذب به بررسی ماهیت خیر Øقیقی رو میکند
در دÙتر چهارم، سخن درباره ÛŒ عدالت خداوند Ùˆ چگونگی به انجام رسیدن تقدیر است

بانوی ÙلسÙه، چهار مرتبه ÛŒ شناخت یعنی Øس، خیال، عقل، Ùˆ Ùهم را مشخص میکند، Ú©Ù‡ متناظر با چهار مرتبه ÛŒ وجود است: Øیات بیتØرک، Øیوانات پستتر، انسان Ùˆ موجودات الهی Ùˆ در واقع در مرتبه ÛŒ چهارم یعنی Ùهم الهی است Ú©Ù‡ مشیت با اختیار، جمع میشود
