International Environmental Agreements and Domestic Politics: The Case of Acid Rain Book

Underdal (political science, U. of Oslo, Norway) and Hanf (public administration, Pompeu Fabra U. of Barcelona, Spain) present 13 contributions which focus on the kinds of political processes and management problems that issues of cross-boundary pollution international policy problems generate at the domestic level in the area of environmental policy, and, in turn how those processes feedback into international cooperation issues. After outlining various models of domestic politics effects, case studies of the reaction to clean air policy regulation in Sweden, Norway, Germany, Finland, Switzerland, France, Italy, Britain, and Spain are examined to test the model.
