Though it uncovers the skewed legal systems in the U.K. and biases about fathers and parenting, this book's stories about dads being separated from their children are universal. After five long years of speaking to everyone involved in the process of a divorce from judges and counselors to the children, Rayburn and Forder were able to piece together the hardships and heartaches that come from divorce. The most touching stories come from the men—policemen, firemen, soldiers, and other hardworking men, who broke down in tears while retelling the stories of how they lost their children to the legal system. The author's intention for this book was that it be written for the children and other immediate family members such as grandparents and even mothers, to have a voice when it comes to the tough topic of divorce.
