I Love Cheesecake Book

So many cheesecakes, so little time. I've read that this book is a scaled-down version of "Cheesecake Extrordinaire" (also by Mary Crownover) without full color pictures, etc. Since pictures of how my finished cheesecake is supposed to look don't really matter to me, I would recommend this book. (By the way, the two books have a $1 price difference, so it's really about if you like to look at pictures or not.) There are so many great cheesecake recipes that I never would have thought of attempting, such as a pumpkin pie cheesecake or a peanut butter cheesecake. Also invaluable is the section at the beginning detailing many common problems people have with cheesecakes - for example, your cheesecake probably cracks because you beat the eggs on high speed instead of low. The author also includes a lengthy section on making cheesecake with yogurt instead of cream cheese, which involves separating the yogurt over several days but ends up being much healthier (as if you're eating cheesecake because it's healthy!). So far the cheesecake that has gone over the best is the Baklava Cheesecake, with a phyllo dough crust and rose water in the filling. My husband definitely does not regret spending the $18 to buy this book for me!
