History of Liquor Licensing in England Principally From 1700 to 1830. Book

I stumbled across this book by chance not knowing what it was about nor anything about the author. At the start I was generally surprised as it felt like a feminist book, with some misguided misogyny, but still earnest in the wish for more women’s rights. The further I got, however, the more the book drifted into very restricting ideas of femininity and of course odd ideas about “the business of being a woman”.

Did I overall agree with the book? No.
Did I still enjoy this quick reading session? Absolutely,

it was interesting observing how the same stereotypes have prevailed over a hundred years and getting a quick look at the mentality of a different time is always worthwhile.
