In 1948, Colonel David W. Irvin, Jr. volunteered for the Berlin Airlift and fLew 85 missions from Rhein-Main AB at Frankfurt, Germany. He later volunteered in the B-47 program and completed training in naviagation, radar and bombardier school to become what is respectively known as a 4 headed monster" in the Air Force.
