One of the best books on healing prayer written by a former Catholic priest who left the Dominican Order in the 1980's to marry. The only better book on the topic, in my opinion, is Agnes Sanford's "The Healing Touch." MacNutt and his wife Judith are the founders of a Christian healing center in the Jacksonville, Florida area. Although now well into his 80's Francis MacNutt remains active in this ministry. His book covers a lot of ground and is recommended as a good, basic overview of Christian intercessory prayer, its theological underpinning, its many attributes and a manual for anyone who feels called to this ministry. My local chapter of the Order of St. Luke requires this book (and two others), together with the series of videos produced by the MacNutts as preparation for induction into this ministry. Believe me, it's worth every hour of study and viewing. Healing is a very accessible book on this topic, well written and theologically sound. Highly recommended.
