Having Wonderful Crime Book

The first Craig Rice I ever read was "Home Sweet Homicide" and I thought it was a lot of fun, so I kept my eyes out for more by her. This is my second John Malone book, and I have a feeling I won't be reading any more of this series. It's not that it was a bad book, but it felt way way way too long. The three MCs keep having the same conversations over and over again and keep thinking the exact same thoughts over and over again. I got really tired of it and had to force myself to pick it up every so often and keep reading.

There's a good story here, and some funny minor characters, but honestly I think the main three are boring. They're stuck in their own uninteresting thoughts, chewing them over and over way too much. And they never feel anything close to real to me. From here on out I think I'll stick with her non-series books and see if I like them better.
